Social Media Strategist & Community Manager (m/f)

Location: Zug 


Job Summary

The Social Media Specialist & Community Manager supports our clients to develop effective social media strategies, provide best practices and lead implementation projects. A coherent, consistent social media experience for audiences has to be delivered. It requires the development of cross-functional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This also includes having the talent to ensure creative content delivers on overarching channel / brand strategies, ensuring that content is distributed in the most effective way and monitored and evaluated appropriately. The role will report into the Head of Direct to Consumer (D2C).

 

Job Description

  • Develop a social media strategy and set goals to increase brand awareness and increase engagement for brands and rights holders in sport
  • Build social media best practices for sports rights holders and brands
  • Develop fresh and innovative creative approaches to curating social media content, utilising existing and new tools
  • Evaluate and learn through ensuring appropriate analysis and measurement of campaigns with support from our Data Analysts
  • Support in developing multi-channel and online to offline engagement models for our clients
  • Deliver outstanding and innovative digital marketing campaigns


Experience and Competences

  • At least 2-4 years experience in social media management, community building and developing multi-channel strategies
  • Strong project management and budget management skills, ideally within a social media environment
  • Proven experience of having run social media accounts, either from scratch or inherited
  • Strong analytical mindset and approach, able to critically evaluate ideas and information
  • Knowledgeable of executing and optimising paid performance media campaigns
  • Successfully generated, owned and curated conversations across various social media platforms with measurable impact
  • Established relationships with talent and key influencers on social media to enrich social output and grow reach, to build an ‘address’ book of contacts and understand the community in a given sport or around a given brand
  • Developed the quality, style and tone of voice for each of the social media accounts and ensured that editorial content meets audience/user needs
  • Strong understanding of audience management and platform optimization techniques
  • Having delivered social creative campaigns, liaising with agencies, media planning and third parties, ensuring that all work is aligned with channel marketing plans/campaigns
  • A strong sense of editorial judgement, tone of voice and content creation
  • Knowledge and experience of millennial and centennial audiences and digital behaviours
  • Any experience within the sporting industry or an industry with similar sports related business and or a passion for sports is a plus
  • Professional experience with Chinese and/or other Asian social media platforms is a plus


Education

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and project management skills
  • Must be self-motivated, driven and able to work independently as well as part of a larger multi-national team
  • Strong understanding of digital and social analytics tools such as Google Analytics, FB Audience Insights, YT Analytics, Shareablee, SocialBakers and Tubular
  • Understanding of sports industry is a plus


Languages

  • Fluent in English
  • German and/or other languages a plus
